Fantapedia.net has a lot of additions to be on the lookout for. One is the addition of discussion forums for users to interact and share their thoughts more freely. One of those forums, which we’ll call the ‘Buy/Sell’ forum, will allow users to present a player, statement, prediction or whatever, and then for other users to respond with either ‘buy,’ as in they buy the statement, or ‘sell,’ as in they disagree with the statement (an idea borrowed from a couple different MySpace basketball groups).
In lieu of this, I thought I’d jump the gun a little and share my own ‘Buy/Sell’ points of interest.
- Buy or sell: Eddy Curry will emerge as one of the premier centers in the league by the end of the season.
Sell...though I do think the Knicks will continue to improve. Curry has a lot going for him and has been playing with more confidence. However, he turns the ball over a lot; has been notoriously weak as far as rebounding goes...at least for a center; may not have the conditioning to continue such a hot streak for an entire season; and is on a team with a lot of capable scorers who have yet to find a rhythm this season.
- Buy or sell: Andrea Bargnani will become a fantasy stud by the end of the season.
Sell: He's shown some flashes of offensive abilities, but he has yet to demonstrate the all-around game necessary to be considered a top-flight fantasy stud. The potential is there, but there are more steps to be taken.
- Buy or sell: After a slow start, Zydrunas Ilgauskas will continue his solid play throughout the remainder of the season.
Buy. Ilgauskas is an effective and efficient offensive post player. If Coach Mike Brown uses Big Z correctly, he shouldn't have any problems being a 15-17 ppg, 7 -8 rbpg, 1.5-2 bspg guy with good percentages.
- Buy or sell: Marvin Williams will emerge into a noteworthy fantasy pick up for team owners late in the season.
Sell. Marvin's a Washingtonian, which means I'll always root for him, but this isn't his year...not yet anyway. Williams has tremendous upside and has shown some flashes this season, but isn't consistent enough to warrant waiting on. Give him another year or two.
- Buy or sell: Raymond Felton will finish the season strong, making him a high pick in many 2008 fantasy drafts.
Buy. Felton started last season slowly before picking it up at the end. With Brevin Knight injured and Gerald Wallace picking up his game, look for Felton to take off after the All Star Break.
- Buy or sell: Shaquille O'Neal will come back strong and be an asset to many fantasy owners.
Sell: Shaq's done...at least in terms of fantasy basketball. He might have some good games here and there, but his health alone will make his production unpredictable to the point that you'll be better off without him.
- Buy or sell: Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson will be able to co-exist and still be productive in terms of fantasy value.
Buy. I truly believe that AI wasn't the reason Webber and him couldn't co-exist. Chris Webber is one of the most uncompatible players in the NBA. Sure, he gets decent assists for a big man, but he can't play within a system and takes a team out of its offense. Iverson has shown that he has the ability to create for other players as well as move without the ball. I do think that Carmelo's fantasy value will decline a bit, because he won't be able to take the same amount of shots as he did before, not to mention he's sort of a one-dimensional player. Yet, I do think they will be able to co-exist, and with Marcus Camby's shot blocking, there should be plenty of fast break opportunities for easy baskets.
- Buy or sell. Kevin Garnett will be traded.
Sell. If people truly understood how difficult it would be to trade Kevin Garnett for no other reason than his enormous contract, they wouldn't be so quick to cling to the idea that he'll be playing for a team other than the Timber Wolves anytime soon.
- Buy or sell: Baron Davis will surprise everyone and stay healthy for the entire season.
Sell. Last season, Baron Davis missed only two games through January, then missed 26 games from February until the season's end. He is in better shape, but he has a horrible history of injuries.

Baron Davis
I think Baron Davis might actually play most of the season this year. he is in better shape and the warriors are actually playing for a playoff spot and since so many other guys are hurt, I think davis will play through some pain to help them get there. He hasn't had anything to play for since joining the warriors. call me crazy.
